Mira Nila Homes, QUEZON CITY—The community of Our Lady of Consolation Parish culminates the month of Holy Rosary last October 31, 2018 with the Holy the Eucharist and the Lucernarium, Latin for “lighting of lamps.”

The month of October is dedicated to Mama Mary with her title our Lady of the Rosary. It was instituted by Pope Leo XIII in the year 1883. Since then, the entire Church continued to celebrate with great importance the month of October for Mama Mary. In solidarity and devotion to Our Mother, the Parish of Our Lady of Consolation conducted a month-long celebration with the block rosary to different homes within the parish.

The highlight of the celebration of the Rosary month was the celebration of Holy Eucharist in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Solemnity of all Saints on October 31, 2018. Fray Ian Anthony Espartero, OAR presided the Holy Mass and was concelebrated by other religious from Recoletos Formation Center community.

Fray Gideon Antolin Lagrimas, OAR, Parish Priest of OLCP, presided the lucernarium.

Immediately after the Mass was the Lucernarium led by the parish priest, Fray Gideon Lagrimas, OAR. The recitation of the Holy Rosary was integrated within the Lucernarium allowing the participants—the young people, some members of different parish organizations, and parishioners from the area chapels—to offer flowers and prayers. The activity was also intended for deeper meditation of the mysteries of the Rosary and life of our Lord.

In a short conversation with Fray Hubert Decena, OAR, one of the respected professors and religious of the Recollects, he emphasized the success of the event. He noted that the lucernarium was a parade of light whose beauty has captivated the attention of the youth. Fray Hubert said: “Thanks for this lucernarium celebration. It has taken our youth away from the witches and goblins.”
