VENEZUELA–The President-in-charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, visited on Thursday the social dining room Divina Providencia of the Augustinian Recollects of the Heart of Jesus in Los Teques (Miranda State). Guaidó met, along with the President of ARCORES Venezuela and the General Secretary of the Congregation, the work carried out by the sisters. In addition, the President of the National Assembly made a donation of food and health material from the humanitarian aid.

The soup kitchen offers daily 1,050 meals for free for people without resources. For many of them, it is their only food. It is one of the projects that are helping Venezuelans mostly in Miranda State. In Los Teques, the Augustinian Recollects of the Heart of Jesus also offer education to minors with few resources.

It is one of the 32 projects of the ARCORES International Solidarity Network. The program began in June 2017 and has been a project of the Augustinian Recollect family (Augustinian Recollects, Augustinian Recollect Missionaries, Augustinian Recollect Heart of Jesus and youth movements) in most of the country. It focuses on three areas: food assistance, basic health care and education; aside from shipment of sanitary material from Spain. More than 5,000 Venezuelans are benefiting from this project.
