Pansol, LAGUNA–Summer is almost over. Lately, we’ve been having intermittent rain showers especially at night. This however did not deter the Secular Augustinian Recollects and their guests from enjoying two days of fun, laughter and camaraderie at the Villa San Ezekiel Moreno (formerly Villa San Miguel) in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna on May 23 – 24, 2019 for the first ever National Council Summer Community Bonding.

Present during the event is SARF National Adviser, Fray Butch Dosdos, OAR, SARF National President Edwin T. Ruiz and more than sixty brothers and sisters from the different SARF chapters in Luzon and their guests. The three swimming pools were more than enough to accommodate everyone but for those who did not want to swim, a videoke machine was made available for the duration of the bonding for some non-stop singing. The oldies (which means nearly everyone) need not worry about catching colds or having a “rayuma” attack since the water in the pools was warm. The rooms were airconditioned so there was no problem with the summer heat. Food was provided by the different chapters in accordance with the food assignments.

Activities were provided. Worth mentioning is the activity whereby the members were grouped into 10 and discussed their thoughts on the community bonding, experiences as a member of the Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity, etc.

Said activity served as a venue for the brothers and sisters to get to know the members from the other chapters.

A short meeting of the National/Regional Council was also held to discuss the SEC registration and the fund-raising activities of the National Council. Another meeting was held for members of the different committees to discuss plans on a national level in accordance with the LAMP. My committee resolved to meet later for another caucus.

Many thanks to the OAR specially to Fray Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR for affording us the use of Villa San Ezekiel Moreno. Hasta luego my brothers and sisters in the Lord. Sana maulit muli…
