CECU CITY–The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars ended another 2019 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Partner’s Cup game with a massive statement, after cruising to a dominating 82-67 win against the Southwestern University-Phinma (SWU) Baby Cobras on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at the Cebu Coliseum.

The slugfest started out with both teams trying to gain the upper hand as the game was close in the 1st Period, with the Jaguars edging the opposition in the first quarter, 21-16.

While the lead slowly crept up in the 2nd Period, it was in the 3rd Quarter where the Jaguars went away, thanks to a lay-up by Kendrick Abarquez, which pushed them 53-36, and gave the Jaguars a comfortable 17-point lead from that point forward.
Kevin Guibao led the pack of Jaguars with 17 points, while Diether Go and David Basilad added 13 and 12, respectively. Together, the trio combined for 42 of the 82 total points scored by the Jaguars.

The Jaguars improved to a 5-1 record in this year’s CESAFI Partners Cup, just behind the University of Visayas (UV) Baby Green Lancers, which is unbeaten at 6-0.
