Provincial Curia, QUEZON CITY–“Welcome to the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno!” These were the words of Fray Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno, during the courtesy visit of the neophytes prior to their reporting at Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary, Baguio City last August 2, 2019.

Before coming to the Provincial House, the new aspirants visited the communities of San Sebasian College-Recoletos, Manila and St. Ezekiel Moreno-Novitiate-Recoletos in Antipolo City, Rizal. Accompanied by the National Vocation Director, Fray Allan M. Jacinto, OAR, and by Fray Arian Josef M. Ocheda, OAR, VP-Religious Affairs and Local Vocation Promoter of USJ-R, the new seminarians were presented to the Prior Provincial who, in turn, warmly welcomed the aspirants.

After the introduction of the aspirants of their name and place of origin, Fray Selma encouraged them to open themselves to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. “You are here because you are called by God. It is now up to you on how you will participate on the call,” said Fray Selma. He also shared with them his experience in the seminary. “Life in the seminary may be difficult. You will be separated from your family. You will encounter new persons. You will learn new language, new culture, and new ideas. You will face crisis and difficulties in your formation. But if you hold on to God who calls you, you will survive,” he added. Fray Selma also shared with the aspirants the life of an Augustinian Recollect missionary.
