He explained that every Catholic is baptized with water and the Spirit. He said that the Holy Spirit strengthens Christians, removes their fears, and makes them courageous to proclaim Jesus. “With the Holy Spirit in us,” Bishop Evangelista said, “we can do great things.” He added that the Holy Spirit helps people to live holy lives, thus fulfilling their mission to be a light for others in their schools, communities, and homes.
After the homily, confirmants renewed their Baptismal Promises. They then queued with their godparents to be anointed with chrism. After the Mass, participants proceeded to designated areas in the Cañacao Campus for the AGAPE during which groups shared their meals with one other.
