CAVITE CITY–The Sacrament of Confirmation was administered by Most Reverend Reynaldo G. Evangelista, DD, Bishop of Imus, held at the Recoletos 4th Centennial Gymnasium, February 17, 2020.

During the Eucharistic Celebration, Fray Joseph Dexter D. Palagtiosa, OAR, Vice President for Formation, Mission, and Identity, read from the Gospel of Matthew. Fray Antonio C. Zabala,Jr., OAR presented the candidates for Confirmation to Bishop Evangelista who presided over the Mass.

In his homily, Bishop Evangelista invited the attendees to reflect on the Holy Spirit’s role in the areas of power, life, and mission. He explained that every Catholic is baptized with water and the Spirit. He said that the Holy Spirit strengthens Christians, removes their fears, and makes them courageous to proclaim Jesus. “With the Holy Spirit in us,” Bishop Evangelista said, “we can do great things.” He added that the Holy Spirit helps people to live holy lives, thus fulfilling their mission to be a light for others in their schools, communities, and homes.

After the homily, confirmants renewed their Baptismal Promises. They then queued with their godparents to be anointed with chrism. After the Mass, participants proceeded to designated areas in the Cañacao Campus for the AGAPE during which groups shared their meals with one other. In the exhibition games held in the afternoon, the School’s varsity teams emerged victorious, sweeping all their competitions.
