Responding to God’s Calling: Holy Mass

1

Bacolod City, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL — Devoting themselves to God’s calling, UNO-R RAY de Bacolod held their monthly Holy Mass at UNO-R Earth Chapel last February 29, 2020.

The Gospel on that day talked about how God continues to call His people, especially us sinners. As we observe the season of Lent, we are called by the Lord to repent our sins by praying, fasting, and almsgiving especially to our needy brothers and sisters.

“The season of Lent is the season when we respond as sinners to the calling of the Lord and fulfilling the so-called pillars of Lent,” Fray Jose Teodulfo Jadulco, OAR stated.

After the final blessing, Fray Jadulco tackled how we should act accordingly and care for our environment. The RAY Spiritual Director shared a PowerPoint presentation about the Laudato Si encyclical by Pope Francis, teaching the youth how each and every one should be conscious and caring for our common home. So fitting was the topic that the short keynote about care for environment was held in the Earth Chapel – the first solar-powered religious edifice in the country constructed from indigenous and recycled materials.

He added that caring for our environment is integral wherein we should be aware and think thoroughly of our actions since these affect our Mother Nature. Some reminders and announcements followed immediately after the talk.

Onwards RAY de Bacolod!
