RFC Coristas receive ministries of Lectors and Acolytes

Mira Nila Homes, QUEZON CITY–“Why is it we have ministry? Because it is our response to the call of God and to continue His mission but most especially to serve His Church and because of Him who called us,” Fray Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, Prior Provincial, amplified in his homily on the occasion of the institution to the ministries of Lectors and Acolytes last May 30, 2020 in St. Thomas Villanova Chapel, Recoletos Formation Center.

Fray Selma, OAR exhorted the candidates not to loose the focus of offering their lives to the Lord as lectors and acolytes in view only of ordination. They should follow the Lord always “because of the life he has given us.”

Fray Neil Robert M. Alilain, OAR and Br. Roldan A. Diego, MMMP were the newly instituted Lectors. Fray Helfrid D. Palmis, OAR; Fray Jose Enrico V. Gallego, OAR; Fray Rey Jay Y. Quevedo, OAR; Fray Renz Calex C. Soriano, OAR; Fray Jhoben M. Rodriguez, OAR; Br. Joselito B. Dumogho, MMMP; and Br. Brien T. Panagsagan, ESHT were the newly instituted acolytes.

Prior to their institution to the ministries, there were series of lectures given about the rudiments, spirituality and history of the ministries. After these laborious phases and steps of learning and relearning, they went through eye of a canonical inquiry. The institution of the brothers is a testimony that they successfully hurdled another stage of their religious and priestly formation.
