VALENCIA, Negros Oriental – Hundreds of cyclists geared up to take part in San Pedro Academy’s first-ever “Sikad San Pedro: An Uphill Race” on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

The event was organized for cyclists of all ages and abilities to get involved. Along with the help of Mr. Anthony Allanic, an SPA alumnus, a program was arranged for the participants before the race began. Shortly after, the participants gathered at the Bacong diversion road, where the race officially starts. The bikers were set to finish a 10-km uphill track, ending at Mampas Valencia, and a winner will be declared for all seven categories—19 years old and below, 20 to 29 years old, 30 to 39 years old, 40 years old and above, fun ride, women, and open category.

After the race, another program was held for the awarding of winners, and the SPA gymnasium was filled with cheers from the supportive family and friends of those who joined. Each participant was given a finisher medal, and the winners for each category were awarded with a trophy and a cash prize. Photo-ops were then taken as the event ended.

“Sikad San Pedro” has brought together enthusiasts from across the region and received support from the organizers, community leaders, volunteers, and sponsors—a collaboration which made the race a massive success.
