VALENCIA, Negros Oriental-Valencia’s pioneering Catholic school, San Pedro Academy, has launched its new corporate name: Colegio de San Pedro–Recoletos on June 24, 2022. The daylong celebration was filled with a series of activities, namely booth fair, Eucharistic mass, parade, SPAsundayag, and raffle draw. These activities displayed various aspects of the Petrinian culture: for instance, the SPAsundayag showcased the talents of the Petrinians in both ends of the spectrum—from students to pioneering alumni. The parade was also participated by different class batches who willingly embraced the historic event.

The official launching event held in the evening was hosted by Ms. Kristine Angelique Chaves, and it was graced by distinguished individuals in Valencia—Mrs. Merlene, Cabatingan, Dr. Rolando Pacarro, Mrs. Rosa Leah Dagoy, Mr. Albert Tubal, and Mr. Rodolfo Gonzales—which contributed to the prestige of the celebration. Apart from the guests, Rev. Fr. Thadeu Enrique Balongag, the CEAP Vice President and Trustee of the Negros Island, and Rev. Fr. Bernard Amparado, OAR, the Prior Provincial of Saint Ezekiel Moreno, also shared their joy for the school’s success as guest speakers.

An emotional part of the launching event happened during the final singing of the SPA hymn and the introduction of the CSP–R hymn, both sung by Coro de San Pedro. The venue was packed with Petrinians who shared equal happiness for this new milestone. A firework display and a message from Rev. Fr. Monday Benjamine Edobor, the School Treasurer, ended the launching ceremony.

The fun continued with a live band, and everyone celebrated the night with joyful reminiscence and music.
