"Fear not, for I am with you" (Is 43:5):
Communicating Hope and Trust in our Time

Access to the media – thanks to technological progress – makes it possible for countless people to share news instantly and spread it widely. That news may be good or bad, true or false. The early Christians compared the human mind to a constantly grinding millstone; it is up to the miller to determine what it will grind: good wheat or worthless weeds. Our minds are always “grinding”, but it is up to us to choose what to feed them (cf. SAINT JOHN CASSIAN, Epistle to Leontius).

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — General Councilor and Head of the Commission on Communications, Fray Antonio "Tonying" Carrón, OAR, is here in the Philippines for the very first time. Fray Tonying met some members and collaborators of the commission in San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Manila, last May 12, 2017. After a thorough sharing of successes and failures in the exercise of their roles in the commission, Fray Tonying proposed his plan of action. He also solicited suggestions from the body to improve the commission's service to the Order and the Church in general.

After the meeting in Manila, the Head of the Commission joined the ride home to the provincialate in Quezon City where he got close and personal in an impromptu radio interview with Fray Boyax Jaranilla over Radyo Rekoleto/Heart on Fire. He also visited Recoletos Communications office and recording studio which led them to further discuss matters on how to maximize the facilities and collaborate with other Recollect provinces.

The tour to RCI closed with Fray Tonying's interview with Bro. Tagoy Jakosalem regarding his apostolate in the Climate Change Project and other social concerns.
