Mira-Nila Homes, Quezon City – March 19, 2016, as the Universal Church celebrated the Solemnity of St. Joseph, six first year OAR friars and six second year OAR friars received the ministry of lector and acolyte respectively. The celebration of the rite of institution of lector and acolyte was held at the parish church of Our Lady of Consolation, Mira-Nila Homes, Quezon City. Rev. Fr. Lauro V. Larlar, OAR, prior of Recoletos Formation Center was the main celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Institution of Lector and Acolytes was done after the homily. Rev. Fr. Larlar, delegated by the prior provincial, Very Rev. Fray Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, presided the Rite of Institution.

The Ministry of Lector and Acolyte are preparatory stages required before the reception of Holy Orders. The Lector is tasked to proclaim the Word of God (except the Gospel) at Holy Mass. He may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings (GIRM 99), and the Acolyte is tasked to assist the priest at Holy Mass as “Altar Server” and to distribute Holy Communion when necessity demands (cf. GIRM 187-192).
St. Ezekiel Moreno Novitiate-Recoletos will stage its first ever “Senakulo,” a re-enactment of the Lord’s passion, death and resurrection, on March 23, 2016, 7:00 PM at the Seminary Covered Court. The said play will be performed by the Novices, Pre-novices, RAY-Antipolo members, and chosen SARF members. This event aims to remind us of the salvific sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ as the greatest sign of his immeasurable love to humanity.

Mira-Nila Homes, Quezon City – February 19, Fray Huberto Decena, OAR, celebrated his 75th birthday with the RFC community. The OAR friars of Antipolo, Tondo, and the Provincial Curia came and greeted “Lolo” Bert. The RFC personnel and the employees of the Our Lady of Consolation Parish also came and greeted the birthday celebrant.
Mira-Nila Homes, Quezon City – On December 10, 2015, two days after their sacerdotal ordination, the newly ordained priests celebrated Holy Mass in the community chapel of Recoletos Formation Center at 6:15 AM. The formators, headed by Rev. Fray Lauro V. Larlar, OAR, prior, concelebrated with them. The seminarians were present and sang for the occasion.
This was their first Holy Mass in RFC, their “alma mater.” In celebrating Holy Mass they gave thanks to God for the gift of vocation to the religious life and priesthood and it was also the occasion for which they also gave thanks to the RFC community for helping them along the way in nurturing their vocation. Rev. Fray Jerik Siozon, OAR, was the main celebrant and sang the some parts of the Mass, Rev. Fray Lounal Jarumay, OAR, was the homilist, and before the final blessing Rev. Fray Nelson Plohimon, OAR, gave words of gratitude to the RFC community for being part of their formation. The traditional kissing of the hands followed during the recessional.
